New staff to welcome thanks to Jobs for Nature Funding
Through the Jobs for Nature funding, Te Korowai o Waiheke is welcoming two more staff to the team for specific roles in the rat eradication pilot project.
Jessie Dean
Communications and Engagement Support.
Jessie has been living on Waiheke Island for four years during which time she completed a communications degree at AUT and worked at the Waiheke Gulf News covering local news and events. She also spent much of the last year working in Te Matuku Bay doing plant and pest control.
Markus Gronwald
Monitoring Lead.
Markus has recently completed a Ph.D. in rat behaviour and monitoring and is joining the team for the rat eradication pilot project. He has been involved in a successful rat eradication in French Polynesia and involved in rat control on Aotea and Goat Island.
