Stoat traps are going out!

The Te Korowai field team have started laying out the traps at regular intervals across the island and we are on track to have the majority in place by Christmas. Thanks to all those landowners/tenants who have agreed to be part of the island-wide stoat eradication programme!

Residents will generously host a stoat trap for approximately two years followed by a two year confirmation period.

Before the traps are set in February 2020, the boxes are being weathered in to their environment and primed with fresh rabbit during January to make them attractive to stoats, who are by nature very cautious animals.
