The Summer Stoat Trapping Team Has Expanded!

Watch out stoats — the summer trapping team has expanded!

The stoat trapping team are stepping it up for summer, with four new Field Technicians joining to track down the remaining stoats on the motu.

Chris and Te Ata have transferred over from the rat pilot team and Harry and Tilde have also recently joined the stoat team. In addition Carina is returning from spending the winter visiting family in Europe. It's great to have so many committed, talented people joining the island-wide stoat eradication effort!

And that's not all — given we are down to such low numbers of stoats left on the island, this summer we have implemented a new trapping regime, that involves checking traps close to the coast, wetlands or waterways once every four working days.
