Two New Field Team Technicians As Summer Arrives
In the summer the stoat traps across the island are serviced more often than in the winter months. To meet this need, we welcome one new field technician and a transition for one of our contractors.
Norm Robins
Field Team Technician (part-time)
Norm has worked as part of the stoat eradication field team since July 2020. Beginning as a contractor, Norm now works as a part-time trapper in the stoat eradication project. Norm is also involved in Waiheke Ratbusters, the restoration of the Park Road Reserve and is often seen out running around the island.
Carina Oliver
Field Team Technician
Originally from Austria, Carina was drawn to the unique approach to conservation in New Zealand which led her to volunteer with Waiheke Ratbusters. This in turn led to a new career opportunity as a stoat trapper.
